There is still time to nominate a deserving local artist.
Gail Gromaski, executive director of the Abbotsford Arts Council, has announced that the nomination deadline for the 9th annual Arty Awards has been extended to Friday, Sept. 21.
Nomination forms, along with information on the nomination process, can be found on the AAC’s website at abbotsfordartscouncil.com.
The Arty Awards take place on Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium in Abbotsford. These prestigious awards honour artists for their achievements in art excellence and their significant contributions to all forms of art in the community.
In addition to the awards ceremony that evening, there will also be a reception, entertainment and silent auction.
Award Categories are:
- Outstanding Artist in the Performing Arts – Theatre
- Outstanding Artist in the Performing Arts – Music
- Outstanding Artist in the Performing Arts – Dance
- Outstanding Artist in the Visual Arts
- Outstanding Artist in the Literary Arts
- Outstanding Emerging Artist
- Outstanding Youth Emerging Artist – Elementary School
- Outstanding Youth Emerging Artist – Secondary School
- Outstanding Arts Advocate
- Lifetime Achievement Award
