March 14 and 21

Sing your way to St. Patrick’s day at the ASA drop-in centre on Cyril Street.

Irish songs will be featured on Monday, March 14 and Monday, March 21 from 1-3 p.m. during the A-tones sing-along and jam.

The event typically includes folk, blues, country music and old time tunes. For more information call Ed at 604-853-8624.

 

March 16

Lepp Farm Market will be saluting all things Irish with a St. Patrick’s Day cooking class on Wednesday, March 16 at 7 p.m.

Join Chef Dez with a glass of Guinness beer to take a twist on the following Irish recipes: Dublin coddle (sausage and potato bake), colcannon (cabbage mashed potatoes) served with a Guinness cream reduction, and Irish soda bread.

Learn about the history of Irish food and savour some classic dishes with Chef Jody at Neatfreakz Chef Studio, 33738 Essendene Ave.

The class runs from 7-10 p.m. and is $60 per person.

Finnegan’s Pub, 33780 King Rd., will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with Irish menu specials, prize give-aways and a Celtic performance from Piper Down.

The band was recently voted the most popular group of the Mission Twilight Concert Series. They can often be seen performing locally with their unique blend of country music, contemporary songs, sea shanties, instrumentals and a sprinkle of humour.

The event goes from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.  Cover charge is free until 8 p.m. and is $5 after.
