The Abbotsford Arts Council has partnered with BC Teen Challenge Women’s Centre in support of its residential support program for women recovering from addictions.
Jewelry handcrafted by BC Teen Challenge students as part of their recovery process is now being featured in the arts council’s boutique at Kariton Art Gallery.
“BC Teen Challenge students uphold high standards of quality and workmanship in their jewelry making,” said Gail Gromaski, executive director of the council.
The Teen Challenge is a one-year residential support program for men and women, aged 19 years and older, who are trapped by life-controlling addictions.
“The Abbotsford Arts Council warmly welcomed our jewelry line, extending an invaluable opportunity for our students to showcase their talents and abilities while promoting an awareness of our addiction recovery program,” said Angie Appenheimer, resource development coordinator at BC Teen Challenge.
The Abbotsford Arts Council will host an open house showcasing the work on Aug. 25 and 26 from 1-4 p.m. at Kariton Gallery (2387 Ware St.).
The public is welcome to attend.
