Abbotsford Arts Council presents Arty Awards ceremony

Recipients to be honoured Saturday, Nov. 25 in nine categories

The Abbotsford Arts Council hosts its annual celebration of excellence, The Arty Awards, on Saturday, Nov. 25.

The awards recognize and honour outstanding artists and arts advocates in the community, and will be presented in University of the Fraser Valley’s lecture theatre (building B). Doors open at 2 p.m., and the event begins at 3 p.m.

The event includes live music and refreshments.

Awards will be presented in the categories of visual arts, performing arts, media arts, literary arts, lifestyle, arts advocate, emerging artist, youth achievement and lifetime achievement.

This year’s nominees are: Becca Hess, Crystal Rinke, Danielle Deschamps, Danielle Mijo-Burch, Deanne Moore, Eileen Holland, Ember Muninn, Finn Toews, Fiona Howarth, Glyndwr the Druid, Jane Unsworth, Kelsy Schumacher, Kuljinder Kaur Brar, Olivia McLean, Petra Szabo, Providence Ndizeye and Ritu Vig.

Tickets can be purchased online at abbotsfordartscouncil.com (under “events and programs”). Tickets will also be available at the door.
