Three branches of the Prospera Credit Union in Abbotsford are hosting the Youth Angel Tree Program.

Christmas trees have been set up in the branches with cards featuring holiday wishes from more than 120 youth, whose names were provided to the program by Abbotsford Community Services.

Residents are invited to take a card from the tree, purchase a new gift for the youth, and bring it back unwrapped to the credit union by Dec. 11.

“Last year there was an 18-year-old young man asking for a pair of work boots to start his very first job,” said Shawn Good, president and CEO of Prospera Credit Union.

“Not only was he overwhelmed by the gift when he received it, but it really made a difference in his life as that first job led to a second job as well. Needless to say he is very busy and doing well.”

The program, now in its fourth year, takes place at the following locations: the Abbotsford branch at 34630 DeLair Rd., the West Oaks branch at 32700 South Fraser Way and the Clearbrook branch at 32071 South Fraser Way.
