Students at Yale Secondary School helped support their community by participating in the Relay for Hope on Saturday, May 31.

Seven girls set out with a vision to fundraise money for the Abbotsford Community Services Meals on Wheels Program.

Meals on Wheels delivers meals to senior citizens in need. As part of an assignment for their senior leadership class, they were given the task of fundraising for their community.

The 90-km ride took the students from Hope to Abbotsford. The girls persevered and fulfilled their vision and fundraised just under $1000 for the cause.

Though the ride was supposed to be a relay, all the students wanted to do the full distance and with tremendous parental support, they finished the full ride.
