Very Berry Week in Abbotsford features plenty of activities

Week runs July 10 to 17 in place of annual Berry Festival

“Berry” will be at Yoga in the Park at Jubilee Park on July 14 as part of Very Berry Week, running July 10 to 17.

Abbotsford’s annual Berry Fest will not be held again this year, but a number of activities are planned during Very Berry Week from July 10 to 17.

The activities include:

n a window scavenger hunt – Find all five berry decals in downtown windows, snap a pic, email to downtownabbyscavengerhunt@gmail.com and receive $5 in Downtown Dollars.

n Berry Yoga – The mascot “Berry” will be at Yoga in the Park at Jubilee Park on July 14, and attendees will receive berry treats.

n Berry Vendor Market – Organizers are working with the Abbotsford Farmers’ Market at Jubilee Park to have berry vendors on July 10 and 17.

n berry bench – Take a seat on the berry bench, post to social media and tag #VeryBerryWeek for a chance to win one of 10 prizes.

n Find Berry – The first three people to find “Berry” on July 17 will receive a prize.

n a berry passport – Receive a stamp on your Very Berry Week passport with a purchase of any berry product from a downtown business. When the passport is filled, snap a pic and send to downtownabbyscavengerhunt@gmail.com to receive $15 in Downtown Dollars. Every full passport will also be entered to win a prize pack worth $300.

n a virtual berry cooking class – Yes Chef hosts the online class on Thursday, July 15 at 5:30 p.m.

n berry crafts – Downloadable crafts will be posted on the Very Berry Week page on the Downtown Abbotsford website.

n social media photo contests – Photo contests include Berry Cute Babies, Respect Your Elder-Berries, I Love You Berry Much and a Berry Good Boy.

The annual Berry Fest normally attracts more than 10,000 guests to the streets of downtown Abbotsford to take in roving entertainers, stage shows, carnival rides, food and more.
