Fraser Valley residents have a rare opportunity to hear the voices and stories of Palestinian Christians in the film The Stones Cry Out: the Story of the Palestinian Christians.

The film will be screened Wednesday, March 23 at the University of the Fraser Valley’s  Abbotsford campus. It starts at 5:30 p.m. in room A252 and is sponsored by the political science department.

The screening is open to the public, and admission is free.

UFV alumnus Philip Sherwood and UFV student Colter Louwerse have helped organize the film series.

“The Stones Cry Out is an excellent choice to close out the film series,” said Louwerse.

“Palestine is the birthplace of Christianity, and so it follows that any discussion of the conflict should include the voices of the largely forgotten Palestinian Christians. For decades they have suffered displacement, war, and occupation, but they have remained resolute and played a critical role in their land’s history.”

A time for discussion will follow the film.
