Touch-a-Truck lets kids see machines up close

Third annual event will be held at the AESC on July 21

Have your kids ever wanted to see and play with their favourite machines up close?

Kids of all ages are invited to come out and meet a wide variety of machines at the Third Annual Touch-a-Truck event at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre (AESC).

This free family event takes place Sunday, July 21 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. with proceeds from the barbeque lunch going to benefit Matthew’s House and the Abbotsford Hospice Society.

Touch-a-Truck is a fun, hands-on, educational event for the whole family. Machine operators will be on hand to talk to children about the machines and to answer questions. Vehicles and interactive displays from companies including  Central Fraser Valley Transit, Abbotsford Forestry Equipment & Supplies, Recycling Abbotsford, Bobcat Country Equipment and Eagle West Crane & Trucking  will be on-site.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be hosting the Third Annual Touch-a-Truck event,” said Global Spectrum’s Jason Blumenfeld, general manager of the AESC.

“This is an amazing opportunity to let children of all ages learn about the vehicles and even get a picture taken in the driver’s seat.”

Event partners for Touch-a-Truck include the Abbotsford News, Country 107, 98.3 Star FM, the City of Abbotsford and The University of the Fraser Valley.

The event will take place in front of the main doors of the AESC. For details and a list of vehicles visit  abbotsfordcentre.ca or call 604-743-5000.
