The annual Smile Cookie campaign at all 14 Tim Hortons locations in Abbotsford is being held this year in support of the Abbotsford Hospice and Grief Support Society (AHGSS).

The campaign runs from April 29 to May 5, with all proceeds from the sale of the cookies going to AHGSS for its children and youth grief support program.

Events and services provided by the program include the annual Teddy Bear Picnic, grief camps, and educational support for children in partnership with the Abbotsford school district.

As part of the week-long fundraiser, Blackwood Building Centre at 33050 South Fraser Way will have Smile Cookies on site for purchase from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 4.

AHGSS has been operating since 1985, supporting children, youth, adults and their families as they cope with grief, death and dying through compassionate support, education and advocacy.

The organization opened Holmberg House – a 10-bed hospice on Marshall Road – in 2016. The hospice was named in honour of Dave Holmberg Jr., who died of cancer in 2011.
