Taxes done for free for low-income people

Tax returns are being prepared in Abbotsford free of charge for low-income people.

The returns are completed by volunteers for people with simple tax situations from Feb. 27 until April 29.

The program is a collaboration between the Canada Revenue Agency and the Clearbrook GoGetyour taxes done freelden Age Society.

The program serves individuals with an income of up to $30,000 and couples with an income of up to $40,000.

Clinics are conducted at Garden Park Tower (#203 2825 Clearbrook Rd.) from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays.

Appointments can now be booked by dropping by the office, calling 604-744-0109 or emailing incometax@gardenparktower.ca.

Tax returns are also prepared at Abbotsford Community Services (2420 Montrose Ave.) for people on limited incomes.

Appointments can be made starting in mid-February by calling 604-870-3763.
