Thousands invade Downtown Abbotsford on Saturday night

Historic Downtown Abbotsford drew thousands to take in the unofficial opening of the holiday season.

The annual Winter Jubilee and Tree Lighting lit up the area on Saturday, with food trucks, vendor booths, an artificial skating rink, stage entertainment and activity centres for children.

A fireworks display also entertained attendees at 8:30 p.m.
