PLANT SALE

The Mount Lehman Garden Club hosts its annual plant sale on Saturday, May 10 from 9 a.m. to noon at Mount Lehman Credit Union, 5889 Mt. Lehman Rd.  Includes plants from members’ gardens,  vegetable plants, and nine varieties of heritage tomatoes. Info: Yvonne at 604-856-0313

TOGETHER AFTER 5

Abbotsford After 5 hosts its  “Bloom Where You Are Planted” Spring Dinner on Monday, May 12 at 6:30 p.m. at ABC Restaurant, 32080 Marshall Rd. Brenda Falk will demonstrate how to make hanging basket using unusual blooms, and Heather Senges will discuss how to “stand strong in the garden of life.” Cost is $18. Reservations:  Pat at 604-856-7513 or email dfolson@shaw.ca

SCANDINAVIANS MEET

DUTCH COFFEE CLUB

The Keep in Touch with the Dutch Coffee Club meets Monday, May 12 from 10 a.m. to noon at Beans and Leaves, #5-32904 Ventura Ave.

NATURE CLUB

The Abbotsford-Mission Nature Club meets on Wednesday, May 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Abbotsford Middle School, 33231 Bevan Ave., to hear Ken Pugh, life-long teacher and nature photographer. He will show his recent images of B.C. birds, and explain techniques and equipment to help take better nature photos. Info: Kathy at 604-854-3203

WOMEN’S CONNECTION

Abbotsford Women’s Connection holds a “Choices to Live by Breakfast”  on Wednesday, May 14 at Garden Park Tower, 2825 Clearbrook Rd. Cost is $11. GENEALOGY SOCIETY

The Abbotsford Genealogy Society holds its monthly meeting on Thursday, May 15 at The Reach Gallery Museum, 32388 Veterans Way. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the business meeting begins at 6:30. Speaker Andrea Lister discusses how to find records of sea-faring ancestors. There is a $2 drop-in fee for non-members.

BETTER BREATHERS

The Mission Sumas Abbotsford Better Breathers Club meets Thursday, May 15 from 10 a.m. to noon at  Cascade Community Church, 35190 DeLair Rd. Share information, education and support with others living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and/or asthma.

CANCER SUPPORT
