FISH AND CHIPS

The ladies auxiliary to the Abbotsford branch of the Royal Canadian Legion holds a fish and chips night on Friday, June 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. A shuttle is available to and from the legion courtesy of MSA Ford. It can be arranged by calling 604-746-9151.

SWEENEY SINGERS

The Sweeney Family Singers perform in concert on Friday, June 5 at 7:30 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 2767 Townline Rd. Admission is by donation to a charity to be announced. Info: www.sweeneysingers.com

DANCES EVERY FRIDAY

The Abbotsford Social Activity Association (ASAA) hosts dances every Friday from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at its hall, 33889 Essendene Ave. Cost is $9 for members and $10 for non-members. WALK FOR LIFE

The Walk for Life is held on Saturday, June 6 at Mill Lake Park. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. and the walk is at 1:30. Proceeds benefit Hope for Woman Pregnancy Services and Advokate Life and Education Services. Register at walkforlife.advokate.ca

GUTSY WALK

The Gutsy Walk to raise money for Crohn’s and Colitis Canada is held Sunday, June 7 at Mill Lake Park. Registration starts at 9 a.m. and the walk is at 10. Registration can also be done online at gutsywalk.ca

RUN FOR REST

The 5 km Run for Rest, a fundraiser for Matthew’s House, takes place Sunday, June 7 at Mill Lake Park from noon to 3 p.m. To register, visit mattshouse.ca/run

SYMPHONY CONCERT

The Fraser Valley Symphony presents its final concert of the season on Sunday, June 7, featuring cello soloist Roland Gjernes. The concert begins at 3 p.m. at Matsqui Centennial Auditorium, 32315 South Fraser Way. Tickets are available at King’s Music and Tourism Abbotsford Visitor Centre, or at the door as available. SCANDINAVIAN CLUB

QUILTERS’ GUILD
