SCANDINAVIA CLUB

The Scandinavian Club of the Fraser Valley meets at 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 12 at the Masonic Hall, 33860 Pine St. (corner of Gladys and Pine).  In addition to the usual potluck dinner, the club will share a large cake to celebrate its 10th anniversary. The evening has a Danish theme. Guests and potential new members who are of Scandinavian ancestry, or have an interest in Scandinavia, are welcome. QUILTERS’ GUILD

NEWCOMERS MEET

The Abbotsford-Mission Newcomers Club meets Tuesday, Jan. 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Terry Fox elementary, 3071 Babich St. This is a women’s social group that hosts weekly and monthly activities such as a walking group, movies, lunches and more. Info: 604-859-4859

DUTCH COFFEE CLUB

The “Keep in Touch with the Dutch” coffee club meets Tuesday, Jan. 13 from 10 a.m. to noon at House of James, 2743 Emerson St.

NATURE CLUB

The Abbotsford-Mission Nature Club holds its monthly meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at Abbotsford Middle School (33231 Bevan Ave.), starting at 7:30 p.m. David Urban and Wendy DaDalt share “Experience the Fraser” – about the natural and cultural history of the Fraser River. WOMEN’S CONNECTION

Abbotsford Women’s Connection hosts an “Aloha Breakfast”  on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 9:30 a.m. at Garden Park Tower, 2825 Clearbrook Rd. The event features a fashion show by Suzanne’s Cruise Wear and speaker Ida Struiksma, who will share “A Journey Home.” Cost is $11. LINE DANCING

BUSINESS NETWORK

The Fraser Valley Business Network meets Wednesday, Jan. 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Paliotti’s Italian Restaurant, 33886 Essendene Ave. This is a networking lunch for business owners and professionals in Abbotsford. WOMEN WITH CANCER

SQUARE DANCING

The Abbotsford Grand Squares Modern Square Dance Club begins its program on Monday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. at the Abbotsford Social Activity Association hall at 33889 Essendene Ave. The program is free to everyone for their first three sessions.
