PROSTATE CANCER SUPPORT

FOR WOMEN

The Women with Cancer support group meets at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17 in the community room at Real Canadian Superstore, 2855 Gladwin Rd. The group is in need of a volunteer facilitator. Training is provided. Info: Edith at 604-504-0630 or edith.v@shaw.ca

NIGHT OF CULTURE

Canada World Youth offers an evening of Ukrainian dance, food and culture on Friday, Feb. 18 at All Saints Anglican Church in Mission (33077 Second Ave.). All proceeds go to the Canadian Cancer Society. Tickets are $15 and $8, available at the Cancer Society office in Mission or Murdoch’s Book Shoppe.

DIALOGUE SESSION

“Dialogue on Appreciating You and Me” is the topic of a free community forum on Saturday, Feb. 19 at Matsqui Recreation Centre, 3106 Clearbrook Rd. Doors open at 1 p.m., and the event runs until 4 p.m. It is hosted by Abbotsford Community Services’ Diversity Education and Resource Services. Individuals are invited to share information about themselves, while learning about others. COMPUTER TIME

The Abbotsford Seniors’ Association hosts computer classes starting next week at 2631 Cyril St. Registration is on the first day of classes on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. Beginner classes start at noon, and intermediates are at 2 p.m. Classes are Wednesdays and Fridays for three weeks. Cost is $60.

An employment and education info session for newcomers takes place Monday, Feb. 21 at Mission Community Services, 33179 Second Ave., from 4 to 6 p.m. Topics include employment mentorship, self-employment, job searching and more. Info: Kusum, 604-814-3957.
