BEEF CLUB TURNS 50

The Abbotsford Beef Club celebrates its 50th anniversary with a dinner and dance on Saturday, April 20 at The Rancho on DeLair Road. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 and are available by emailing Teresa at russnteresa@shaw.ca or by calling 604-857-5760.

DANCE PERFORMANCE

Reflections School of Dance holds a free performance featuring the Emerge Dance Company on Saturday, April 20 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at House of James (2743 Emerson St.). Donations are gratefully accepted. Also at the event, director Debbie Wiens will sign copies of her latest book, Life in the Studio.

LEGO BLOCK PARTY

Mission Library (33247 Second Ave.) holds a Lego block party on Saturday, April 20 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. The library will supply the Lego. Info: 604-826-6610

CAMP FUNDRAISER

A garage sale and car wash to raise funds for a camp for Grade 7 students of Aberdeen Elementary takes place Saturday, April 20. The event runs, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school, located at 2975 Bradner Rd.  Hotdogs, drinks and popcorn will also be sold.

LEGION EVENT

An afternoon of country music with Wayne Bransfield takes place Saturday, April 20 at the Royal Canadian Legion (2513 West Railway St.) from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Enjoy a burger, beverage and ribbon fries for $5. Meat draws also held.

KARAOKE NIGHT

The Mission Legion (32627 Logan Ave.) holds a karaoke pub night on Saturday, April 20 starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 and include a burger and salad. A silent auction, raffles and door prizes also take place.

HYMN SING

Clearbrook MB Church (2719 Clearbrook Rd.) holds a hymn sing at 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 21 with the Chancel Choir, Men of song and the North Oaks Trio. Info: 604-850-6607

TOGETHER AFTER 5

Abbotsford After 5 holds a “Spring Has Sprung” dinner on Monday, April 22 at ABC Restaurant (32080 Marshall Rd.), starting at 6:30 p.m. Presentations include “Why Buy Local?” with Lepp Farm Market and “What Becomes of the Broken-Hearted?” with author Christine Scmidtke. AUTHOR VISIT

Author Angie Abdou reads from her latest book, Canterbury Trails, on Tuesday, April 23 at Clearbrook Library (32320 George Ferguson Way) and on Thursday, April 24 at Mission Library (33247 Second Ave.). Both sessions begin at 7 p.m.

TEA TIME
