The Rotary Club of Abbotsford has announced the installation of Dr. Martin Silverstein as its president, effective July 1, 2011. Dr. Silverstein has been a member of the club since 2008 and has served on the board of directors as president-elect and director of club service.
“I’m honored to have been asked to be the president of the Rotary Club of Abbotsford,” said Silverstein. “Our club has an illustrious history of community and international work; I’m privileged to be allowed to lead our efforts in the coming 2011-2012 Rotary year under Rotary International’s President, Kalyan Banerjee’s theme ‘Reach Within to Embrace Humanity.’”
Also inducted to the board of directors were: Andrew Franklin, Doug Edgar, Suzanne Greening, Leslie McConnell, Andrea Lingren, Pat Tonn, Angelo Rea, Harvey Goodwin, Barb Schimnowsky, Caroline Mostertman, Carolyn Hiebert, Allison Longshore, Lyle McLelland and Lenora McQueen.
