Sevenoaks Shopping Centre has raised more than $17

Sevenoaks Shopping Centre has raised more than $17,000 in support of the Abbotsford school district’s meal program, which provides daily lunches to vulnerable children.

The money has been raised since 2010, with Sevenoaks donating all proceeds from the return of recyclable beverage containers.

Management and retailers at the shopping centre work together to ensure that all such containers are placed in the recycle bins. They are then picked up by Regional Recycling at no charge.

Currently, there are almost 440 daily lunches prepared and delivered to various schools in Abbotsford.

For more information on becoming a partner and donating, contact Leigh Howard, director of Learning Support Services at the Abbotsford school district, at 604-504-4610.
