The second exhibit at the Gur Sikh Temple's Sikh Heritage Museum opens this Sunday, July 15.
The event takes place at 2 p.m. at the temple, 33089 South Fraser Way.
In 2001, the Gur Sikh Temple celebrated its 100th anniversary. On Dec. 17, B.C. Lt.-Gov. Steven Point officially opened the Sikh Heritage Museum at the temple with its first-ever exhibit.
It is the first museum of its kind in Canada. The first exhibit, called "100 years of Settlement and Integration," highlighted stories of pioneers and included family portraits and pictures of old mills and the workers.
The public is now invited to the opening of the second exhibit at the museum entitled “Punjab – The People, the Land, the Legacy.” This exhibit will highlight paintings of pioneers by local artist Manjit Singh Sandhu as well as Punjabi artifacts and family photographs.
