Right to Life Society hosts walk for life

Community event includes bouncy castle, face painting, balloons and a barbecue

On June 8, the Abbotsford Right to Life Society (www.abbotsfordrtl.ca) will host its 24th annual Walk for Life at Mill Lake Park in Abbotsford.

Walk for Life is a community oriented and family-friendly event. Festivities include a bouncy castle, face painting, balloons and a low-cost barbecue starting at noon.

At 1:30 p.m. participants will walk or run either a four-km or eight-km route to raise support for women and children in their communities.

This year, money raised from the Walk for Life will help open a pregnancy support centre in the Abbotsford area.

“We’re really excited about this new ministry. Public awareness and education is crucial for saving women and children but practically supporting the women who are in difficult circumstances is just as important,” said Jared White, director of education and development for Abbotsford Right to Life.

Those interested in participating can register for free online at www.walkforlife2013.ca.
