Reaching out to kids in Abbotsford

Children's Discovery Centre has opened to educate and entertain kids

The Reach Gallery Museum Abbotsford has a new Children’s Discovery Centre in the Great Hall.

This is a timely, playful and “edu-taining” addition for families with young children and students that come to explore The Reach’s exhibitions and programs at 32388 Veterans Way.

“It’s a friendly creative space, where kids can engage with parents or caregivers in hands-on educational activity kits connected to current exhibitions and to artefacts from 1900-1960,” explained Kris Foulds, collections manager at The Reach.

“This is about putting their imagination and hands to work on how a vintage camera works or how to document their family history with the Junior Genealogist kit.”

The Children’s Discovery Centre is supported by Prospera Credit Union who for the past two years has sponsored the Sunday Family Arts Program at The Reach.
