Presentation on integration of former prisoners

Program takes place Friday, April 17 at Arnold Church in Abbotsford

The integration of former prisoners into the community will be the focus of a presentation on Friday, April 17.

As four of 10 inmates that are released end up back in Canadian prisons, the presentation will look at the church’s role to help integrate them back into the community in positive, redemptive and practical ways.

The event will feature church leaders, prison chaplains, ex-inmates and prison experts for a discussion.

The discussions will include: ex-inmate testimony and re-integration story; the state of our correctional system; key partnerships with external agencies, church and chaplains; and a question and answer period with a panel of experts.

The event is free, but attendees are encouraged to sign up to save a spot. It will run from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Arnold Community Church (310 Arnold Rd.)
