The Vancouver Pet Lover Show, the largest pet show in Western Canada, returns to Tradex in Abbotsford for its sixth year this Saturday and Sunday.

The show features educational seminars from industry experts from across the province, live animal entertainment, and the latest in pet products and services.

The President’s Choice SuperDogs Star Search, which took place for the first time last year, returns to this year’s event, giving participants a chance to perform at the PNE this year.

Finalists will be selected from audition tapes submitted to the Pet Lover Show Facebook page.

The deadline for submissions is Feb. 23 at noon.

Also returning to this year’s show are the world-famous DockDogs, featuring three competitions combined to make one action-packed family-oriented act.

The dogs will compete to see who can jump the highest, dive the farthest distance, and swim the fastest to get out of the water.

Other highlights of the show include “paws-on” activities such as massage, reiki and animal chiropractic, as well as expert advice from certified trainers.

Continuous shows will be offered on six stages hosted by top animal specialists.

Returning favourites include dancing and skateboarding dogs, rabbit agility shows and the Can-Am/TICA Cat Show.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets at the door are $14 general, $10 for seniors and youth, and free to kids five years and under. Prices are $2 cheaper if purchased in advance at petlovershow.ca.
