Menno Place in Abbotsford holds butterfly release for COVID victims

Event was among those held at 24 care homes in B.C. on Friday

Menno Place in Abbotsford was among 24 care homes across B.C. that held a butterfly release on Friday (July 30) in memory of those who lost their lives during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event also acknowledged those who survived.

The butterfly release was held by the BC Care Providers Association and EngAge BC. The butterfly symbolizes rebirth and transition.

Menno Place hosts a butterfly release annually, but this year they partnered with the two agencies for the event.

The event was also held in Richmond, Vancouver, Coquitlam, Surrey and Qualicum Beach.
