Robotics Camp for Elementary and Middle School students from Grades 4 to 8 is coming this summer and is open to non-MEI students as well!
The camp will be held July 22, 23, 24, 25, and 26. There will be two sessions for the camp on these days. The first session, for grades 4 and 5, will run between 8:30-11:30. The second session, for grades 6 to 8, will be held between 12:00-3:00. Space is limited to 40 students split between the two sessions. (20 per session)
The cost per student will be $150 for the five three-hour sessions.
The goals of this camp are for students to:
Have fun!
Learn safety procedures for the Tech Ed Lab
Learn and apply the iterative approach to problem solving by making robots that are designed, built, and programmed simulate the terraforming of an alien planet!
Students will have a choice of making robots that will:
Gather moon rocks and bring them to a collection point
Retrieve a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) that has become stranded
Activate a pump at the lake to provide water for the base
Finalize the assembly of a solar power station
Place a cap on a volcano to prevent an impending eruption
Plant a flag for the base
