Medieval fair at Trethewey House

A medieval fair takes place at Trethewey House in Abbotsford (2313 Ware St.) on Saturday, July 9 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

A medieval fair takes place at Trethewey House in Abbotsford (2313 Ware St.) on Saturday, July 9 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The event is presented by the Shire of Lionsdale, which is a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, a medieval recreation and educational organization.

Activities being demonstrated include spinning, weaving, dancing and various forms of armoured combat.

The fighting demonstrations will include a armoured combat tournament at 12:30, and there will also be  a rapier tournament at about 2 p.m.
