A five-year-old Abbotsford girl will be among the children featured on the Variety Show of Hearts Telethon this weekend.

Emily Blundell will be featured as one of Steve’s Little Darlings.

Emily, who lives with her parents Marilou and Michael and little sister Ellie, has hemiplegia, epilepsy and hydrocephalus (fluid on the brain), is also developmentally delayed in speech and uses a wheelchair for longer periods of walking.

Variety helped the family by funding eyeglasses, a plagiocephaly helmet for Emily in 2011, and an adaptive tricycle in 2015.

Emily currently attends kindergarten at Abbotsford Christian School.

The telethon, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, takes place on Saturday, Feb. 13 and Sunday, Feb. 14 on Global TV.

It is broadcast live from The Theatre at the Hard Rock Casino in Coquitlam. For more information, visit variety.bc.ca.
