BC Hydro crews installed a new high pressure sodium street light on Marshall Extension Road in Abbotsford last Friday.
The four-man crew required for the installation included a power line technician (PLT) sub-foreman, one PLT and two apprentice PLTs. It took crews an hour to get the new light up, pull a new line over to the transformer on an adjacent pole, set up a guy wire and test the light.
The new light was ordered by the city of Abbotsford to improve visibility on a part of the road that did not have an existing street light.
