The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation presents its third annual Health Talks 101: Day of Medical Enlightenment on Saturday, Sept. 29 in Abbotsford.

The free event starts at 9 a.m. at the Quality Hotel and Conference Centre (36035 North Parallel Rd.).

Started in 2016, the objective of the event is to share with the public new initiatives on relevant health topics.

“We do this by engaging the source of unique knowledge available to us by experts in the field of medicine, nursing and many other allied health-care professionals in Abbotsford and Chilliwack,” says Dr. Peter Fry, founder of the event.

The presentations include an opportunity to “ask the expert“ or to chat with an expert during lunch or coffee break.

A free light breakfast will be served, courtesy of Abbotsford Division of Family Practice, and lunch is available during the day.

Among the topics covered at the event are cardiovascular disease, CT scanner information, surgical wait-list options, home health, Exercise is Medicine, cancer screening information, and nutrition and wellness.
