Garage sale supports orphanage in Kenya

The Imani Orphan Care Foundation holds the event on Saturday, April 18 in Abbotsford

A garage sale taking place Saturday, April 18 in Abbotsford raises funds for an orphanage in Kenya.

The event is being held by the Imani Orphan Care Foundation, an Abbotsford-based non-profit organization, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at HillCity Church, 3970 Gladwin Rd.

Donations of quality items to be sold at the event can be dropped off until April 16 at 3308 Blossom Court.

Hot dogs, pop, chips, baked goods and coffee will also be sold.

All funds raised at the garage sale will go toward the Imani Home of Love in Narok, Kenya, including paying off the $8,000 in payments left on the orphanage’s van.

The money will also be used toward the completion of the compound/safety wall project at the facility.

Another $45,000 is needed for the project.
