The University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) was home to the 19th annual Fraser Valley Regional Heritage Fair on April 28 and 29.
This year’s fair was a collaboration between the staff of MSA Museum and The Reach Gallery Museum working with the team at UFV.
Following a First Nations drum anthem, the fair was opened by Dr. Mark Evered, president and vice chancellor of UFV.
Coun. Patricia Ross brought greetings from the City of Abbotsford, and trustee Phil Anderson from the school district.
More than 100 students participated in representing their schools and districts at the regional level. The program included heritage activities and campus tours.
Abbotsford South MLA Darryl Plecas opened the awards ceremony on April 29, when students were awarded plaques and certificates.
The next event is the BC Heritage Fair taking place July 4 to 8 at the Point Grey campus of the University of B.C.
