The longtime former president of the Abbotsford International Airshow has garnered another major honour.

The Honourable Company of Air Pilots bestowed its 2014 Award of Merit to Ron Price.

Price was the airshow’s president and chief executive officer for 14 years before stepping down last year. Price also was the founding chairman of Airshow Canada, which helped create Tradex, and has served on countless local boards and committees.

Price has been a pilot for more than 40 years and has been a longtime promoter and supporter of the North American branch of the Guild of Air Pilots Air Navigators (now the HCAP).

In 2012, Price was named to the Order of Abbotsford. Last year, he received a Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee medal.
