A number of family-friendly activities are being offered in Abbotsford in celebration of Halloween.
Abbotsford Farm and Country Market hosts “Pumpkins on Parade” on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free treats and fun pumpkin activities will be featured.
The market is located in the area of Montrose Avenue and George Ferguson Way in Historic Downtown Abbotsford.
A Halloween Face Painting Workshop takes place Sunday, Oct. 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Kariton Art Gallery (2387 Ware St.)
Professional face painter Tori Carter will be on hand to share tips and techniques for achieving that scary, ghoulish face.
Cost is $5 per person, including supplies. Tickets are available at the gallery or online at evenbrite.ca.
Families can come to Sevenoaks Shopping Centre (32900 South Fraser Way) on Halloween for trick-or-treating from 3 to 4 p.m. Participating retailers will display an orange pumpkin.
Highstreet shopping complex (at Mt. Lehman Road and Highway 1) presents “The Land of Boo,” including eight Halloween-inspired displays and a “Spot the Cat” contest.
Trick-or-treating takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Halloween, when there will also be a photo booth, a DJ, balloon artists and more.
The Abbotsford Downtown Business Association holds trick-or-treating on Halloween in the historic downtown core from 1 to 5 p.m. The starting point is Cobblestone Kitchenware, where maps of participating businesses are distributed.
Science World will be hand to offer some “science on the spot.”
EcoDairy (1356 Sumas Way) features a Moo or Boo event on Halloween from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Cost for the family-friendly indoor party is $4 per child (ages 14 and under), and free for adults.
