Envision Financial collects for local charities

The Full Cupboard Holiday Program supports Abbotsford and Mission communities

The Full Cupboard Holiday Program (formerly Angel Tree) is back for a fourth consecutive year to help spread holiday cheer in the community.

Last year, the Envision Financial program collected over 1,200 gifts and 3,410 pounds of food for families and individuals in need. The targets are even higher this year.

“The statistics really speak to the need for this program,” said Susan Byrom, manager of community investment at the credit union, in a press release. “One in seven children in B.C. live under the poverty line and 29.5 per cent of monthly food bank users are children – over 27,000 kids in B.C.”

Members of the community are invited to take an ornament from the tree and return it with a new and unwrapped gift, food or cash donation by Dec. 13.

In Abbotsford and Mission, all gifts and cash donations will be delivered to either the Abbotsford Food Bank Christmas Bureau, Mission Community Services Society, or St. Joseph’s Food Bank.

Envision Financial has committed to raising $1 million for local food banks in the next decade.
