Donate a toy, ride for free on West Coast Express

The annual Santa Train returns on Dec. 7 and 14, collecting toys and food for Christmas bureaus.

The West Coast Express (WCE) Santa Train is back on track for the holiday season on Saturday, Dec. 7 and 14.

The Santa Train is an annual toy drive that makes the 65 km journey from Mission to Vancouver – and all WCE stations in between.

Now in its 17th year, the Santa Train collects toys on behalf of the various Christmas bureaus throughout the various communities served by WCE.

Anyone who brings a new unwrapped toy to any WCE station on those dates receives a ticket to ride the train for free that day.

Donations of non-perishable food will also be collected between Dec. 7 and 14. They can be dropped off at the bins at Waterfront Station, as well as at the bins at charity partners Black Press Newspaper Group and Rogers Radio Group (Star FM, Country, and Sonic).
