BC Hydro, the city of Abbotsford and the district of Mission have teamed up to offer incentives to help residents save energy and money. The rebates, for Power Smart Month, are available from Oct. 1 to 31.
Customers can get up to a $100 rebate on a high-efficiency clothes washer from BC Hydro. Abbotsford and Mission will match the rebate, bringing the potential savings up to $200.
BC Hydro is also offering customers throughout the province, a rebate of $50 to $75 for select Energy Star refrigerators and $100 rebate on Energy Star clothes dryers.
Customers can also get $2 to $10 off select Energy Star LED bulbs and light fixtures. They use at least 75 per cent less energy than incandescent lighting, saving about $104 over the lifetime of the bulb. Energy efficient light bulbs also last 25,000 hours, or 22 to 25 years based on average household use.
