Creative Challenge supports Canuck Place in Abbotsford

The third annual event takes place Sept. 21 and 22 at Sevenoaks Shopping Centre.

The third annual Creative Challenge for Canuck Place kicks off Saturday, Sept. 21 at Sevenoaks Shopping Centre in Abbotsford.

The event runs Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and continues from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

The event will see businesses from around the Fraser Valley showcase their creativity and philanthropic spirit by building massive Lego sculptures and donating funds to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.

Sevenoaks shoppers will then vote for their favourite Lego creation. All proceeds from the Creative Challenge will support Canuck Place Children’s Hospice in Abbotsford.

“We are thrilled to see Sevenoaks Shopping Centre and the Fraser Valley business community come together to support Canuck Place in such a fun and creative way,” said Margaret McNeil, Canuck Place CEO.

Tricia Dumouchel, marketing director at Sevenoaks Shopping Centre, said the event is expected to raise more than $10,000 for Canuck Place.

Canuck Place in Abbotsford is nearing completion as part of the Dave Lede Campus of Care on Marshall Road adjacent to Abbotsford Regional Hospital.

It will provide services for children with life-threatening illnesses and for their families in the Fraser Valley and beyond.
