Community invited to attend open houses at local fire halls

The public can visit the halls and meet firefighters

Fire Rescue Services will be opening up all eight community fire halls for public tours in honour of national Fire Prevention Week, which runs October 5 to 11. Event:

The open houses will be held on Oct. 8 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The various fire halls are located at throughout the city.

Fire Hall 1 - 32270 George Ferguson Way

Fire Hall 2 - 35995 North Parallel Road

Fire Hall 3 - 28465 Fraser Highway

Fire Hall 4 - 5775 Wallace Street

Fire Hall 5 - 5875 Mt. Lehman Road

Fire Hall 6 - 2427 West Railway Street

Fire Hall 7 - 34989 Old Clayburn Road

Fire Hall 8 – 30811 Blueridge Drive

All of the city’s community fire halls will be opening their doors to the public.

Residents are invited to drop-in, tour the halls, explore the trucks and see specialized firefighting and rescue equipment.

Local firefighters will be available to answer questions, demonstrate equipment and ‘Sparky the Fire Dog’ will make a guest appearance at several of the fire halls. Special activities are planned for kids and adults
