Community hosts annual parade before main City of Abbotsford event

The community of Mt. Lehman hosts a parade on July 1 preceding the main City of Abbotsford parade.

The Abbotsford community of Mt. Lehman hosts a parade and celebration preceding the main City of Abbotsford parade on July 1.

Complimentary coffee and tea will be served at Mt. Lehman Community Hall (6418 Mt. Lehman Rd.), starting at 8 a.m.

The parade starts at 9:30 a.m. from the Mt. Lehman Credit Union (5889 Mt. Lehman Rd.).

Mt. Lehman Road will be closed to traffic from 9 to 10 a.m. between Harris and Taylor roads (north/south) and from Ross and Taylor roads (east/west).

Cake and festivities will follow at the hall and Mt. Lehman United Church.

New this year is the children’s pet parade. Kids are invited to dress up their pets and bring them to the parade.

They should meet with their pets at the Mt. Lehman United Church at 9 a.m. for judging and prizes and then join the parade.

Those who would like to participate in the parade by driving their car, motorcycle, tractor, bicycle or float or by walking or rollerblading are asked to meet at the credit union at 9 a.m.
