Canada Day celebration will be a wild event

The city’s Wild Wild West themed event kicks off with a parade at 11 a.m. followed by a full day of events at Abbotsford Exhibition Park.

The City of Abbotsford and the community of Mt. Lehman will host Canada Day celebrations on Monday, July 1.

The city’s event kicks off with a parade at 11 a.m. which runs along South Fraser Way, Ware Street, Trethewey Street and Maclure Road, with the grandstand on South Fraser Way between Bourquin Crescent and Gladwin Road.

The fun continues at the Abbotsford Exhibition Park (32470 Haida Dr.) from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. with local performers, drumlines, the Abbotsford Youth Orchestra, hayrides, mini-golf, pony rides, a petting zoo and more.

The night will finish off with a fireworks display at 10 p.m. at the park.  For more, visit abbotsford.ca/canadaday.

Mt. Lehman will host a Canada Day event at the Mt. Lehman Community Hall (6418 Mt. Lehman Rd.)

The parade starts at 9:30 a.m. from the Mt. Lehman Credit Union (5889 Mt. Lehman Rd.) with cake and festivities to follow at the community hall.

Those who would like to participate in the parade by driving a car, motorcycle, tractor, bicycle, float, or by walking or roller blading, meet at the credit union at 9 a.m.
