The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation and Sevenoaks Shopping Centre hosted the fourth annual Bubbly Breakfast on Friday morning.

The food court at the shopping centre was transformed into a fashion runway and fine-dining establishment for this fundraising event in support of the cardiology unit at Abbotsford Regional Hospital (ARH).

Dawn Chubai, host of City TV’s Breakfast Television, again served as MC, detailing the clothing and accessories worn by models from many of the retailers at Sevenoaks.

The event ran from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and also included a silent auction with items such as wine and gift baskets, salon services, event tickets, Disneyland passes, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra tickets and more.

February is National Heart Health Month. Proceeds from the Bubbly Breakfast will be used to purchase telemetry packs – portable heart monitors used to measure heart rhythms.

The packs cost about $10,000, and a cardiac unit needs several of them. Many at ARH are nearing the end of their life span and need to be replaced.

The presenting sponsor for the Bubbly Breakfast was the auxiliary to Abbotsford Regional Hospital.
