Applications now being accepted by Abbotsford Community Foundation for agricultural grants

Total of $160K available for projects that support agricultural innovation

Applications are now being accepted by the Abbotsford Community Foundation (ACF) for the 2021 Agricultural Enhancement Grants Program.

The granting criteria focuses on projects that support agricultural innovation, specifically relating to product development, value-added agriculture innovations, solutions for product-to-market supply chains, entrepreneurial farm practices to enhance market growth, diversification of farming operations and/or regulatory compliances.

Individual grants are available for up to $50,000 with a total of $160,000 available.

“We’re looking for projects that will have positive economic, social and/or environmental outcomes as a direct result of receiving this funding,” said Marcus Janzen, chair of the agricultural enhancement grants committee.

ACF board chair Andrea Senft said more than $775,000 in grants have been distributed since 2013 to benefit agriculture in Abbotsford.

“The ACF is proud of having over 40 years of giving in Abbotsford, and these grants demonstrate ACF’s ongoing commitment to inspiring, impacting and investing in our community,” she said.

The application process first involves a submitting a letter of intent by April 2. Each letter is reviewed and those which meet the grant criteria will be invited to submit the full application.
