Applications accepted for Canada Day parade and festival in Abbotsford

The City of Abbotsford is accepting applications for Canada Day parade entries, performers, marketplace booths and volunteers.

The annual celebration includes the parade at 11 a.m. followed by activities all day at Abbotsford Exhibition Park. The festival runs from 1 to 10 p.m. and features live entertainment on the main stage, food trucks and a marketplace.

The marketplace and community stage run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A light show concludes the festivities at 10 p.m.

A press release states that the city is working with local artists and community partners to put together a program focused on multi-culturalism, diversity and accessibility for residents and visitors of all ages to enjoy.

As part of the community celebrations, the city will once again present the Order of Abbotsford and other civic recognition awards in the evening,
