Scavenger hunt took place around Metro Vancouver

Tanya Drouillard, an Abbotsford local, was joined by teammate Steven Barks to be two of almost 300 participants who showed up this past Saturday to challenge themselves and compete in the BC Lung Association’s RUSH: Race & Urban Scavenger Hunt.

Checkpoints were scattered throughout Metro Vancouver, each designed to push participants to their physical and mental limits. This year, the ever-changing checkpoints included bubble balls, roller derby, jelly beans, and even a little bit of coding. RUSHers had to complete 10 out of 12 checkpoints and make it back to the finish line first in order to win the grand prize of a trip around the world.

So far this event has raised almost $75,000 in support of lung health research, advocacy, and education in helping to make the lives of the 1 in 5 British Columbians with lung disease better and longer.
