Abbotsford's Run for Water on tap next week

The sixth annual Run for Water is set to hit the streets of Abbotsford on Sunday, May 26.

The sixth annual Run for Water is set to hit the streets of Abbotsford on Sunday, May 26.

The event, which raises funds for clean water projects in Ethiopia, offers four runs – a marathon, half marathon, 10K and 5K. Each begin at staggered start times – 7 a.m., 8 a.m., 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. – from the Bevan entrance to Mill Lake Park. The park and trail will be closed until 11 a.m. on race day.

The Race Expo runs for two days prior to the race itself at UFV's Envision Athletic Centre, on Friday, May 24 from 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, May 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The expo will include race package pickup (bib tags, shirts, race info), late registration, and donation, merchants and sponsors booths.
