Nora Deadman celebrated her 106th birthday in Abbotsford this week.

Nora Deadman is Abbotsford’s most senior resident, marking her 106th birthday on June 9.

A celebration was held Wednesday at Carriage Lane seniors’ complex, where she still lives on her own, cooks her own meals, knits toques for the Salvation Army, and plays cards every Friday.

Deadman attributes her longevity and good health to “moderate living.” She was born June 9, 1906 in the town of Haselmere in Surrey, England and moved to Canada in 1948, settling in Abbotsford a year later.
