An Abbotsford teen who was born with a left-arm amputation recently benefited from a program run by the War Amps.

Camden Loewen, 15, likes to keep active and was fitted with a weightlifting device that lets him exercise both arms.

The device was provided through the War Amps Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program.

Camden has been actively involved with CHAMP over the years. He was a safety ambassador for the program in 2017 and he has attended CHAMP seminars.

In 2019, his bike was fitted with a device that enabled him to hold onto the handlebar.

The War Amps began more than 100 years ago to assist war amputee veterans returning from the First World War. It has expanded its programs over the years to support all amputees, including adults and children.
