The Abbotsford Stroke Recovery Program participates in the annual Walk ’n’ Roll fundraiser on Saturday, June 1.
The event begins at 1 p.m. at Sevenoaks Shopping Centre and raises money for March of Dimes Canada, which funds community programs such as stroke recovery. Participants will walk or roll through a designated course.
Pledges of $20 or more automatically receive a charitable tax receipt.
To make a pledge, visit marchofdimes.ca/walknroll and click on “support a group” to find the Abbotsford page.
The goal of the Abbotsford group is to raise $4,000 to cover its costs for a year.
The Abbotsford Stroke Recovery Program runs as a drop-in group every Monday and Thursday from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Abbotsford Recreation Centre (2499 McMillan Rd.).
The group is open to those whose stroke was recent or years ago.
