An Abbotsford-based organization is seeking funds to help support a refugee family.
The Lazare Foundation is requesting the funds to help recently arrived refugee Malambo Mdwikale, his wife and their five children, who spent 11 years in a refugee camp in Kenya due to the war in the western part of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The organization is asking for donations of cash and food to assist the family until they can get on their feet financially.
Fondation Lazare is a charity that helps house, feed, clothe and educate children of the Congo.
To make a donation to the refugee family, call the the foundation at 604-859-8517. Tax receipts will be issued for amounts over $20.
